Why Do I have to sign up? It adds value. Lets take an example. You ask the question "Do you think Income Taxes are to high?" and you have a possibility of "YES" or "NO" answers. You will get a response of about 40% say "NO" and 60% say "YES". What you don't know is 40% of the people of working age in the US do not pay any income tax and they don't care! If we group your household income into the results, you get a much more meaningful result. It adds control. By having users log in, we have the control to allow you to only vote once on a given poll, question or answer. What should I use for my user name when I sign up? The answer is more relates with what you should not use. Your user name should not contain your last name, any part of your SS# or your bank PIN. A good user name would be: Joe, Joe2121 , BigJoe, HappyJoe, JoeJoe, SloppyJoe, BigSloppyJoe, BigSloppyJoeIsHappy. The user name can be up to 20 characters long. If your computer allows cookies, we will store your logon name on your computer so you will not have to remember it. Why are you are asking for so much personal information? The answer is the same reason as above. However the information can not be linked back to you. We do not ask for your name, just a name/handle for you to use to log in with. We do not ask for address, phone, or any other information that could be linked to you. Do I have to answer all of the requested Information? NO!. All we have to have is a name you want to use to log in and a password. If you want us to be able to e-mail you if you forget your password, then we need your e-mail address. |
